Retinal Detachment
detachment of the retina
Retinal detachment is an emergency condition in which, due to a retinal tear, the retina separates from its normal position
and vision suddenly decreases.
It can occur at any age, from adolescence through older adulthood,
and causes include high myopia and trauma, or progression of posterior vitreous detachment.
Stage 1 Symptoms
Early on there may be no particular symptoms, but you may notice floaters that look like black dots or gnats and flashes of light.
