We diagnose and treat
conditions that can threaten vision
Because retinal care is complex and critical,

RETINAL VASCULAR OCCLUSION
Retinal vascular occlusion is also known as a 'stroke of the eye.'
Just as a stroke is a disease in which the blood vessels in the brain become blocked or burst
, retinal vascular occlusion is when the retinal artery or retinal vein becomes blocked.

Types of Retinal Vascular Occlusion

Retinal Artery Occlusion

This condition is caused by blockage of the central retinal artery,
resulting in a sudden visual impairment.
Inadequate blood supply leads to a rapid decrease in vision, as if a dark cloud
had settled over the field of vision.

Retinal Vein Occlusion

This condition is caused by blockage of the central retinal vein
. When vascular occlusion occurs, edema develops in the macula
, the center of the retina, and vision decreases.
In addition, central retinal vein occlusion can
cause neovascular glaucoma.
